Gloomy Days

We've had such gloomy days here in Vegas lately, which is really unusual to have so many in a row.  I came across this song  Time Well Spent and I started thinking of so many of my loved ones in heaven.   Happy for them but I sure do miss them.

Update on Mom

Image
4/28 update - The stress test came back clear.  The doctor said Mom will have to have an EKG every year from now on just to monitor her heart. She is being released today.  Thank you all for your prayers! ---------------------------------------------------------- The good news is Mom's incision from her surgery is healing nicely.  She doesn't seem to have any pain from that at all. The bad news is Mom is back in the hospital. After two visits to the ER because of Mom vomiting so much and 2 nausea medications later, she was admitted back in the hospital on Saturday.   We still don't have many answers, but as of right now her EKG came back abnormal.  They did an echo-cardiogram yesterday morning but we haven't seen the cardiologist to find out anything regarding her heart.   After blood tests done at the ER we found out her troponin levels were high which they said she may be have had a small heart attack.  Several blood tests la...

Feeling Old but Blessed!

Image
Last night Mike's daughter had a precious baby girl.  Hard to believe that I am a "Grandma" Taylor Dixie ~ 7 lb 1oz ~ 19 1/4 inches long ~ born 11/5/2014 @ 9:31pm The family is doing great! I was talking to Mike's sister yesterday and she was telling me that my "little" nephew is now 5'5", his voice has changed and he is now shaving!  This picture was taken of him and my niece on their last visit to Georgia in July 2010 before Mike passed away.  Hard to believe how fast these precious little ones are growing up!   Did I mention I am feeling OLD!  But oh how blessed I am to have them all in my life!

Happy 40th Birthday Kathy!

Happy 40th Birthday to the most amazing, beautiful, loving, forgiving, merciful, giving, incredible, tender-hearted person I know.  I am really blessed and thankful to have you as my sister. Ever since I was a little girl, I've always looked up to her and I've always wanted to be just like her.  She is amazing! I love her long, beautiful dark hair and the sparkle in her eyes. I love how she brightens a room when she enters it.  Her personality is very magnetic. I love how she has taught me, by her example, to be more merciful, loving, tender-hearted and forgiving. I love how she wears many hats of responsibilities and is able to successfully juggle and keep them all in the air. She is one AMAZING WOMAN. Thank you Lord for Kathy! Happy 40th Birthday to the greatest sister ever…I love you!

January Cruise

Image
Last year Kathy's assistant went on maternity leave in July and decided she wanted to be out thru the end of the year.  When we found this out, Kathy realized she wasn't going to be able to take any time off work until the new year so we booked a cruise for us to take first thing 2014.   We went out of Long Beach, California and our two ports were Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta both of which I've been to before so I enjoyed some quiet time on the ship.  I did snap some pictures so I could share with y'all.  Hope you enjoy!          Kathy wore my favorite flexi clip during the cruise and I had to snap a picture of how stunning it looks in her dark hair.  Kathy's hair is just gorgeous!   The cruise ship we went on was actually the same cruise ship we took on our very first family cruise in 2005.  Walking around and looking at the ship's décor brought back lots of w...

Dad's Birthday Celebration

Image
We celebrated Dad's birthday when we went to California to go on our cruise (pictures from the cruise coming in a later post).  Our first stop was Rancho Cucamonga, California.  Rancho Cucamonga is one of our favorite weekend getaway places.  The drive isn't terribly long and the best part about it is that there is a Chick-Fil-A there for us to enjoy.  My favorite place to stay there is The Hyatt Place, besides being a great hotel, it's in an excellent location. It's right next to a mall, plenty of restaurants and there is even this quaint little scrapbook store (which I am totally amazed is still open since most small scrapbook stores have closed). For Dad's birthday he wanted to go to Benihana to celebrate.   There is also a Dave and Busters near the hotel so one night we went and played a few games. It was a fun start to our vacation.  Now to get the cruise pictures posted!

Trip to Florida + Cruise

Image
These pictures are long overdue but atleast I'm finally getting them posted. Maureen and I went on a cruise to celebrate her 40th Birthday... what a blast it was!  I am so thankful for the relationship I have with her! Megan is a little fish... she and Roger both love being in their pool! Megan and I have fun in the kitchen together... here Megan was making cake pops with her Easy Bake Oven.  I think she had the most fun sampling the sprinkles! See you guys next year!

Road Trip ~ Day 3

Image
After three days of driving we made it to Kansas for Paul's family reunion.  Here are the last of the scenery pictures.  On Saturday Mom and I enjoyed a lazy day relaxing at the hotel while Paul and Kathy attended the reunion.

Road Trip ~ Day 2

Image
As we started out our second day of traveling, we spotted Mater and his friend as we left Moab.  We saw some amazing homes up on top of high mountains and in the middle of nowhere.   We enjoyed beautiful scenery from dessert landscape to snowy mountains.  In Denver we stopped top visit Aunt Alice and our cousins.   It was great to see most of my cousins and their families.

Road Trip ~ Day 1

We headed out on a road trip to Paul's family reunion in Kansas.  Our first stop was Utah.  Look at all the different colors on this rock/mountain.  We stayed overnight at Moab which is right by Arches National Park.    God's beautiful creation is amazing!  We  really enjoyed all the different scenery we encountered.
