Project 365 ~ Week 41

Image
Week 41 started with a day full of rain. Poor Betsy was stuck inside all day. She just curled up on her pillow and slept most of the day away. I finished Mike's scarf and I had him try it on. Not sure how many really cold winter days we will have but at least he's ready for them. The scarf is so nice and soft and I think the colors are perfect for him! I spent two days this week making cards. For the last month or two I have not been in a crafty mood. This was a good crafty week for me. I found this fish scrapbook paper in my craft room and thought it would be perfect to make some guy cards. I went to Split Coast Stampers to see what challenge would inspire me and I found a sketch challenge which resulted in me making this card. I was so happy with how the fish card turned out that I decided to get into my craft room the next day and try another challenge. This time I went to the Clean and Simple card challenge and came up with this card. I really like the color combination. ...

What an amazing week this has been. The weather has been so gorgeous outside that it has inspired me to spend some extra time outside. One of my first projects for this week was to take my summer clothes out of my closet and put up my winter clothes. I guess I have more summer clothes because I ended up with a pile of hangers leftover. It has been so nice outside that while we were running errands Mike decided to open the window and enjoy the fresh air. The fresh air was wonderful but I forgot to put my hair back so by the time our drive was over my hair was a complete mess! Another one of my projects this week was getting raspberry plants from our Pastor's house and planting them in our back yard. We woke up early, drove to their house, dug up 26 little raspberry plants and they also let us dig up some little blueberry plants. I am really excited because I have been making green smoothies every morning and I am using tons of fruit. More on the green smoothies in a later post. Any...

What a week! We had lots of rain and Praise the Lord the lakes here in GA are full. It has been a long time since they have been this full. This week looks like it's going to be a nice sunny week, so my plan is to get lots of outside chores done. In case I don't have enough projects going on, I decided to start knitting again. I am working on a scarf for Mike. Headed over to the Jeffries this week and we all had an early day and a very full day so that afternoon Bailey decided she would lay down and take a little "dog" nap. I started a new book this week. I heard several people talking about this series so now it's my turn to read it. Since I read so slowly I plan on finishing this book but I'm not sure how many more from this series I will end up reading. With all the storms and rain we have had the last two weeks, we lost power at our house for about an hour. It was great because I got to use my hurricane lamp for the very first time. We sat and listened ...

This was a full week for us.... we had family camp with our church family and we ended the week with a birthday party. This is the third year we have attended family camp and each year has been a blessing. Family camp is a special time for us... it is full of time to relax... time to have fun on the water... time to go fishing... time to play together with friends... time to see some of God's creation (this is a stick bug...also called a walking stick)... time to shoot some guns... time to work together as a family... time to enjoy some delicious food... time to challenge each other... time to teach... time to serve... and time to worship the Lord. We left family camp early to head home so we could go to Johnston's birthday party. And of course, a birthday party isn't complete without some cake :-)

It's Camp Time

Heading out to Church Family Camp tomorrow morning. Looking forward to what God has in store for us. See you all back here on Sunday!

While visiting the pumpkin farm last week we bought a huge butternut squash. I made Curried Butternut Squash Soup with Lime Crema . It was delicious but I must say I added way more spices than what the recipe called for. Pictured below is Mike's bowl of soup, I tried to make a heart with the Lime Crema. After doing some touch up work on our walls, I put this saying on the wall. I bought this vinyl letting decoration back when I went to Pennsylvania to visit my grandparents. I can't believe it took me this long to finally get it up. We had a good downpour this week and Mike was so excited when he looked outside he could see our rocks working just like we had hoped they would. The water was running through the rocks instead of creating a path through the dirt. I went out to check eggs and I think we have a broody hen again. Well I took this picture with two hens in boxes but really the one on the right is the one that is broody. I know this because she has been in the bo...
