My heart was black with sin until the Savior came in
His precious blood I know has washed me whiter than snow
And in God’s word I’m told I'll walk the streets of gold
To grow in Christ each day I'll read my Bible and pray.

After reading the Happy Birthday Jesus post from the Homespun Heart blog, I started thinking about the Wordless book and the song that goes with it. I was telling Mike about the book/song and he didn't know what I was talking about. This made me realize that there must be others who also don't know about the Wordless book so I wanted to blog about it. I also wanted to have it as a reminder and never forget the words to this great evangelism song!

People have quit using that song for two reasons. 1) They fear that the use of the words black and white will not be politically correct. 2) They fear that people will feel offended at being told that we are born in a state of sinfulness.
Well, give me a break! Black is nothing more nor less than the absence of light and white is the presence of all light--no more, no less--and it definitely describes our conditions Before Christ and After Christ. The entrance of God's truth brings light (my paraphrase), and until that point we are submerged in sin which is total darkness. So, let's forget the PC and deal with the Biblically Correct.
Keep that song in your repertoire! It's a good one.
Dad
I found a YouTube video with the song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SR474_aaFes.
Brings back memories from my childhood and youth.
I appreciate Lynn's comment!
