P365 ~ Week 16

Project 365 button designed by http://richgift.blogspot.com

I know I'm a week behind but I still wanted to share. I am not sure when I will get pictures posted for Week 17 but I will catch up someday!

Sunday - We were invited over to our Pastor's house for dinner. It is always fun going over and watching their 3 sons. They always make me laugh. Pastor mentioned to us that he had recently started practicing his trumpet skills. We of course had to ask him to play something for us and I think he did a great job.

Monday - Mom helped me to hang up some pictures. I still have lots more to unpack and hang up but every little bit makes me feel more settled. I love pictures. Every time I look at them a special memory comes to mind. Also, I am reminded to pray for the people in the pictures.

Tuesday - Girls night out with Lana at 808 Sushi. It was yummy but sorry to say I forgot to take a picture!

Wednesday - Mom and I put together these Easter jars. I saw the idea and just had to make some. I think they are adorable!

Thursday - After work we headed to California. This was the hotel we stayed at. I love getting great deals on hotel rooms. This was an awesome 4 star hotel and we paid $45 for the night.

Friday - Cruise day... Since Kathy is platinum status on Carnival we are one of the first people on the boat. The wedding party always gets on first and then we are next. There was one wedding going on and I snapped this picture as I was waiting for the elevator.

Saturday - Aren't these the cutest? Now it's time to check out Sara's blog to see what everyone else is up to these days.

P365 ~ Week 15

Project 365 button designed by http://richgift.blogspot.com

Sunday - I woke up and got ready for church but when I went upstairs I found my poor Mom really sick. We think she had the flu. So I stayed home from church and took care of her.

Monday - Another sick day for Mom. She was actually worse and I was getting worried. Sweet Pam came by the house with some chicken pieces so I could make some homemade soup with some rich chicken broth. Pam also brought these beautiful flowers for Mom. Tuesday - It must have been the 48 hour flu because Mom was back to cooking. I woke up to these delicious treats that she made when she woke up...vanilla scones, chewy granola bars and I am not sure what the other one was called but they were all delicious! Wednesday - Girls night out... sushi and shopping. Thursday - We took a little drive to what is going to be our new job location as of June 1st. Friday - We came home after work to see our new patio roof. I'm so excited! I can't wait to plan a cookout. I am going to be spending lots of time outside enjoying this new area of the house. Saturday - Our plan was to have a garage sale but after looking at the weather forecast we decided we better postpone the garage sale. So instead Mom, Kathy and I had a girls day out while Paul was home working on his homework. This is a picture of Mom right after her hair cut. Isn't she beautiful? Now it's time to check out Sara's blog to see what everyone else is up to these days.

P365 ~ Week 14

Project 365 button designed by http://richgift.blogspot.com

Sunday - We had some fellowship time with Peter and Pam at our favorite pizza place...Grimaldis
Monday - I made my Natraburst drink for everyone to have some. I had to take a picture of Kathy because if you look real close at her smile you will see some blackberry smoothie :-)
Tuesday - We have had some beautiful days with the weather not being too hot or too cold or too windy. We went out to dinner and ate outside next to this fountain.
Wednesday - We went to Pam's house for food, fun and fellowship. Thursday - One of my new projects/ministry at church is creating/maintaining the church directory. We went to Walmart and bought all the supplies we needed. Friday - Kathy and I left work early to go to the DMV. It took us about an hour and a half of waiting time but hat was much better than what we expected. Now I have to wait a few weeks and I will be an official Nevadan.
Friday night we celebrated Mom's birthday. We went to Panevino (one of Kathy and Paul's favorite restaurants). We invited Pam to come with us and since she had never gone to see the "dancing waters" at the Bellagio we decided to introduce her to it.
Saturday - I don't have a picture because we were to busy cleaning out the office and craft room at home. Kathy and Paul did a great job of going through things and decluttering and organizing the office. I still have more to do in the craft room but I started and that is an improvement.

I know I am basically a week late but let's see how everyone elses week went.

Old Farmer's Advice

Your fences need to be horse-high, pig-tight and bull-strong.

Keep skunks and bankers at a distance.

Life is simpler when you plow around the stump.

A bumble bee is considerably faster than a John Deere tractor.

Words that soak into your ears are whispered…....not yelled.

Meanness don't just happen overnight.

Forgive your enemies; it messes up their heads.

Do not corner something that you know is meaner than you.

It don't take a very big person to carry a grudge.

You cannot unsay a cruel word.

Every path has a few puddles.

When you wallow with pigs, expect to get dirty.

The best sermons are lived, not preached.

Most of the stuff people worry about, ain't never gonna happen anyway.

Don't judge folks by their relatives.

Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.

Live a good and honorable life, then when you get older and think back, you'll enjoy it a second time.

Don 't interfere with somethin' that ain't bothering you none.

If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop diggin'.

Sometimes you get, and sometimes you get got.

The biggest troublemaker you'll probably ever have to deal with, watches you from the mirror every mornin'.

Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he'll just kill you.

Always drink upstream from the herd.

Good judgment comes from experience, and a lotta that comes from bad judgment.

Lettin' the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier than puttin' it back in.

If you get to thinkin' you're a person of some influence, try orderin' somebody else's dog around.

Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God.

Spreading the Word & Chickens Everywhere

Sorry this post is late but better late than never.   Last year we decided to reach out to one of the missionaries we support when it cam...
