Project365 ~ Week 26

What a week... I feel like I got so much accomplished and I am so happy about that...one thing that helped alot was that I wasn't on Facebook and I didn't blog much. I need to refocus my time and make sure I am being wise with my time management.

To start off this week... I got my Cutco knife that Mike bought for me (isn't he the sweetest) This knife is awesome and I use it to cut everything!
Our broody hen did it again this week. She sat on 8 eggs for a week and then right before church on Wednesday I went out to collect eggs for the day and she was out of her normal box and in another one... As a temporary fix Mike just put the eggs under her again but he decided we would get a crate and move her into it so we could make sure she sat on these eggs. Mike found this great deal on Craigslist for this dog crate... we went and picked it up...brought it home, cleaned it out...put chicken wire around it...added pine shavings and then moved her and her eggs into this crate. For now she is in our basement. We will see if we end up getting chicks or not.Another project for the week was moving rocks... when we first moved into our house we had started digging a ditch to try and control where the water goes when it rains. We were never able to complete the project and it didn't seem to help anyway. So this week we moved the rocks from the ditch and put them in this flower bed. We are going to build a wall and mulch this area. In the next few weeks our outside is really going to get some major work done and I can't wait to see how it all turns out. I am excited!Friday we had the privilege of having Audrey, Jackson and Ashley over for dinner. We had so much fun. They are a really sweet family. They kept us laughing all night long.Even Betsy enjoyed the company... she did a great job being somewhat under control... she was occupied with her rawhide bone at this time but I am very surprised she wasn't all over Jackson.Saturday Mike was kind enough to take me to several garage sales. We actually found some wonderful deals. Stuff for the chickens... and stuff for friends and family

Created to be His Help Meet ~ 8

Chapter 8 ~ Wisdom to Understand Your Man
  • A wise woman learns to adapt to her husband.
  • Three kinds of Men: Mr. Command Man, Mr. Visionary, Mr. Steady
  • God gives imperfect women to imperfect men so they can be heirs together of the grace of life and become something more together than either one of them would ever be alone.
  • The way you think determines how you will feel, and how you feel influences the way you will act.
  • Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands: that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; while they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. I Peter 3:1-2

Time to Consider

  • What type of man is your husband? Keep in mind that most men are a little of all three types, but tend to be stronger in one.
  • Ask God to give you wisdom to see where you need to change to be the perfect help meet for your divinely designed man.

Created to be His Help Meet ~ 7

Chapter 7 ~ Wisdom, While There is Yet Hope
  • A wise woman is always learning. She is open to change. She is ready to hear. She pursues knowledge.
  • When God gave Eve to Adam, he was giving him a helper, not a conscience.
  • Divorce is never planned, but is almost always preceded by certain avoidable reactive behavior and events. Don't let it happen to you.
  • Make up your mind to be a woman of God, regardless of what your husband bought or how dumb he seemed to be in the way he spent money.
  • He practices his faults, and you practice your bitterness. You are both practicing divorce.
  • Have you forgotten why you were created? Come to Jesus just as you are and say to Him: From this day forth I want to be the help meet you created me to be. He is waiting to forgive and love you. God's way works!
  • James 4:17 ~ Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
  • Luke 6:49 ~ But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
  • II Timothy 1:7 ~ For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
  • What is God's perfect will for your life? To be a good help meet

Time to Consider

  • James 3:11 ~ Doth a foundation send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?
  • Make a new habit ~ Think of the thing your husband does that irritates you the most. Now say to yourself, I do not see the whole picture. I do not know what God is doing in my life or my husband's life. My critical attitude is a far graver sin than his bad habits. I am guilty of blaspheming the written Word of God when I do not love and obey my husband. Therefore, I am laying down my campaign against him concerning this issue. And, as far as I am concerned, it is God's business to direct my husband and convict him. I am trusting God!

Project365 ~ Week 25

This picture is actually left over from last week but somehow I forgot to blog about it. This is a fabulous drink that they have at Ruby Tuesdays... it is sweet tea with crushed fresh blackberries... very refreshing! We have a chicken that is walking like a penguin. She has been like this for some time now. I was doing some reading on the Internet and someone suggested feeding her some yogurt.
So here I am trying to get her to eat some yogurt. When I first put it down she ignored it. I had to add some of her normal feed to it and then she realized she really liked the yogurt. As far as I can tell the yogurt didn't do anything but it was worth a try. This is how she should be walking...I took a picture of this chicken because she is starting to get some beautiful colored feathers around her neck. You may not be able to see it very well but she has orange and reddish colored feathers.
Two weeks ago one of our chickens decided she was going to sit in a box full of eggs and get herself some chicks. It takes about 21 days for the chick to hatch. Well this week I went in to collect eggs and I found that little miss broody was off the nest. So we brought the eggs inside and put them under a lamp. Now we will wait another week and see if we end up with any chicks or not.Mike and I have been enjoying Scrabble on Facebook. This, I think, is our 7th game. If you look at the words on the board you will see that we have 2 words down twice. I have never had that happen before. I put "lion" down one round and the next round the only thing I could do was put "lion" down again. Then one round Mike put "said" down and for my turn the only thing I could really put down was "said" This is my kitchen table. I am trying to get all the recipes I want to put in the church recipe book. I have a huge mess and I really want to get this recipe book done soon.
Mike has been working on splitting some wood that we have in the front yard from a tree that was cut down. He split this one open and found eggs... these are blue tailed skink eggs.
Mama skink is in the hole trying to collect her eggs again since they went all over the place when Mike split the log open. We actually picked them up and put them back in the hole for her. They felt really weird...they were squishy... I guess we were expecting them to have a hard shell like chicken eggs.
We got our free grilled chicken meal coupons from KFC so we stopped and enjoyed a completely free meal :-)

Project365 ~ Week 24

I know it's early for Christmas cards but I wanted to get Mom's order out of the way so I can concentrate on other orders and Lord willing as it gets closer to Christmas maybe I will have some card orders to complete and keep me busy. So here are Dad and Mom's Christmas cards for this year. Hope they like them!Mike loves the cobblestone muffin at Panera Bread. We found a Panera's not too far from home that we can enjoy every once in a while. I decided to try their frozen caramel coffee drink. It was wonderful but the reason I took this picture was to show you the size of the straw. It was huge. I have never seen such a large straw. Just a small sip and my mouth was full of the coffee goodness!I decided to try making my own flavored coffee creamer. I looked online and found that all you need is sweetened condensed milk, milk and vanilla extract for a French Vanilla flavoring. So I tried it and it tasted good but it wasn't the same exact flavor you would get from International Delights French Vanilla. It did however taste somewhat like cafe con leche. It was yummy and I will definitely make some again. Maybe add some other flavorings next time. We did a quick stop at Kroger for milk and fruit and I found these ribs in the "Manager's Special" section. I thought they looked delicious so I bought them. I seasoned them up with a rub I found online, put them in the crockpot and 8 hours later they were fall off the bone fabulous! The neighborhood next to us has several empty lots that no one has built on yet. The lots are filled with a variety of overgrown green things but one thing that I am always happy to see is blackberries. Well these in this picture aren't ready yet but they will be soon enough and then I will pick them. I pulled out the Scattergories to play with Mike to help us get away from out laptops for a night. Things were going great until we got the letter "S" and the blank to fill in was "Things you replace" and Mike put "Spouse". No worries anyone... he has no plans of replacing me.

Do You Know These Songs?

Many years ago (don't really remember exactly when it was) my brother Michael and I went on a missions trip to St Lucia. We had a great time helping with VBS, handing out tracks and just getting to know everyone. While in St Lucia we learned some new songs. I wrote the words down to those new songs and I just found those papers this week while I was cleaning through my night stand.

Has anyone else ever heard these songs?

He that believeth, he that believeth
Have an everlasting life
He that believeth in the Father and the Son
Have an everlasting life

When I get to heaven, walk all around
Have an everlasting life
I will sit by my Savior feet, cast down my crown
Have an everlasting life

-------------------------

Who's the king of the jungle
Who Who
Who's the king of the sea
Waddle Waddle Waddle
Who's the king of the universe and
Who's the king of me

His name is J E S U S, yes

He's the king of the jungle
He's the king of the sea
He's the king of the universe and
He's the king of me

-------------------------

In moments like these
I sing Him a song
I sing a love song to Him.

In moments like these
I lift up my eyes
I lift up my eyes to you Lord.

Singing I love you Lord
Singing I love you Lord
Singing I love you Lord

I love you!

----------------------------

We shall not die but live and declare
the works of the Lord Amen.

Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen

Amen!~
