P365 ~ Week 13

Project 365 button designed by http://richgift.blogspot.com

Sunday

Kathy and I were in the nursery watching the kiddos. Those children are so precious! Monday

I had my last dentist visit and I am thankful that is over with. Next year I will probably have to have a root canal redone that was done about 15 years ago. Tuesday

We picked Mom up from the airport. She will be with us for one month and we are very happy to have her here. This is a picture of us playing around with my iPhone trying to teach Mom how to use it. Wednesday

We were just told by a coworker about a website to check out sales and coupons. I use to shop like that and get lots of bargains in Georgia but since moving here I hadn't found a good website to give me the information I needed. We went shopping and got tons of pasta for free because it was on sale and we printed out coupons. This is Kathy holding our receipt. Do you see how long it is. Half of it is coupons. I think our total savings was 79%.... not too bad! Thursday

I finally found a doctor in Vegas. I needed to get my thyroid medicine refilled so it was time to find a local doctor. One by one I am getting all my to do things done!

Friday

Mom started the process of getting desserts ready for our church Spring banquet. Saturday

Finally the day we had been planning for months had arrived...the spring banquet...it turned out GREAT!I had a fun, full week. How was your week?

My New Super Food

One month ago today I started drinking NatraBurst. I am happy to announce that I have lost 13 pounds so far.
When I can, I make a smoothie from skim milk, banana, berries and NatraBurst and I drink it as my dinner. It tastes delicious, I feel great, and it gets me one step closer to becoming healthy.
I have noticed that I am eating less and feeling full. I am getting my daily vitamins and nutrients from this drink and I have more energy.
I can honestly say it tastes great and I really look forward to drinking it.
I encourage you to look into it for yourself. If you have some weight to lose or not. If nothing else, this drink is a great way to get your daily vitamins naturally.

Project 365 button designed by http://richgift.blogspot.com

Sunday
We had Mike and Martha over for lunch after church. It was a great opportunity to get to know them better.

Monday
We have been enjoying the extra day light because of the time change. We were able to come home, eat dinner and then go for a walk. Tuesday
Got some more walking in today. This is the route I walked. This park, which is close to the house, is awesome! I can't wait to enjoy more walks, picnics and sunshine as the weather warms up. Wednesday
To get me through the day! :-) Thursday
We had a St. Patrick's Day potluck at work. DeeAnn made these cute little cookie hats. Aren't they cute? After work we had the Chastaine family over for dinner. I was able to hold this little bundle of joy most of the night.

Friday
Got my iTunes gift card in the mail today. This is one of many gift cards I have earned from Swagbucks. Saturday
Another fun day of fellowship. This is a very special family full of love for the Lord.

Look at that face... how precious! Such a sweet couple!

My week was full of friends, fellowship and food. How was your week?

Cup of Tea

Received this story in an email. Enjoy!

-----------------------------------------
One day my mother was out and my dad was in charge of me.

I was maybe 2 1/2 years old. Someone had given me a little ' tea set ' as a gift and it was one of my favorite toys.

Daddy was in the living room engrossed in the evening news when I brought Daddy a little cup of ' tea ' , which was just water. After several cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea, my Mom came home.

My Dad made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of tea, because it was ' just the cutest thing! ' My Mom waited, and sure enough, here I come down the hall with a cup of tea for Daddy and she watches him drink it up.

Then she says, (as only a mother would know) ' Did it ever occur to you that the only place she can reach water is the toilet?

P365 ~ Week 11

Project 365 button designed by http://richgift.blogspot.com

Sunday
Enjoyed the beautiful trip back to Las Vegas from California. We had a fabulous weekend away!
Monday
Received this card in the mail. My niece Rachel made it and I think she did a wonderful job! Thanks for the card Rachel and keep up the good stamping!
Tuesday
Not sure what happened to my picture for Tuesday... Sorry!

Wednesday
Spent the evening with Pam...running around getting things finalized for the church Spring banquet. When we dropped her off at home, she gave us some stamps, a recipe book and two ornaments. This is one of the stamps she gave me and this is the card I went home and made with it. Thanks for everything Pam!

Thursday
The church spring banquet is right around the corner. We handed most of the invites out two weeks ago but we have had some new families come to the church and we wanted to make sure they got an invite also. So I made some extra ones. They don't look exactly the same as the first batch but I still think they turned out nice. Friday
Pam and Peter surprised me and Kathy by stopping by our work with these gorgeous flowers. Talk about brightening up our day! Thanks so much, you too are very special! Saturday
I intended to get some pictures but it just never happened. We had a full day. Spent the morning going around a neighborhood, knocking on doors and handing out pamphlets inviting people to our church. Went to the Argentine restaurant for lunch with Pam and Peter. After our delicious meal we went to watch Rango at the theater. Not my kind of movie but I think they enjoyed it.

Now let's see how everyone else is doing.

Surprise!

Is this flower arrangement gorgeous? Peter and Pam from church came to our work to deliver a surprise to Kathy and me. What a surprise it was! Just to see them made my day and then for them to be so sweet to bring these beautiful flowers. Thank you so much Peter and Pam... you guys are wonderful and we love you!

What is Love?

What Love means to a 4-8 year old

A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds , 'What does love mean?' The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined

See what you think:

'When my grandmother got arthritis , she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time , even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love.' Rebecca- age 8

'When someone loves you , the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.' Billy - age 4

'Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.' Karl - age 5

'Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs.' Chrissy - age 6

'Love is what makes you smile when you're tired.' Terri - age 4

'Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him , to make sure the taste is OK.' Danny - age 7

'Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen.' Bobby - age 7

'If you want to learn to love better , you should start with a friend who you hate , ' Nikka - age 6

'Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday.' Noelle - age 7

'Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well.' Tommy - age 6

'During my piano recital , I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling. He was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore.' Cindy - age 8

'My mommy loves me more than anybody, You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night.' Clare - age 6

'Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken.' Elaine-age 5

'Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford .' Chris - age 7

'Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.' Mary Ann - age 4

'I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones.' Lauren - age 4

'When you love somebody , your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.' Karen - age 7

'Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross.' Mark - age 6

'You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it , you should say it a lot. People forget.' Jessica - age 8

And the final one

The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife.

Upon seeing the man cry , the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard , climbed onto his lap , and just sat there.

When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor , the little boy said ,

'Nothing , I just helped him cry'

Steve Green & Larnelle Harris Concert

Paul, Kathy and I went to California for the weekend. We had a fabulous weekend. The weather was beautiful, the hotel was perfect, the concert was great and the food was fabulous. We even squeezed in some shopping at Marshalls and got some excellent deals.
Since there are no Chick-Fil-A's in Nevada we had do eat at Chick-Fil-A while in California.... and it sure was yummy!
We were able to relax and just enjoy some down time. Then Saturday night was the Steve Green & Larnelle Harris concert. While we were standing in line to get in, we noticed we were the youngest people there. Later we found out that the concert was planned for a College Alumni gathering.

P365 ~ Week 10

Project 365 button designed by http://richgift.blogspot.com
What a full week for me but I am thankful for each day God has given me!

Sunday
We were invited over to the Kendall's house for dinner. We had a fabulous time. Played some games, ate some delicious food and learned alittle more about each other. Be praying for the Kendall's as their heart's desire is to become missionaries.

Monday
Paul and Kathy have lots of wooden dishes. We use them alot for entertaining and just for fun. I took all the wooden pieces they owned and put mineral oil on them to keep the wood protected. Tuesday
I stayed home from work so the new carpet could get installed. This carpet is the softest carpet I have ever felt. I love it! Wednesday
Kathy got us tickets to go see The Phantom of the Opera. It was wonderful! Thanks Kathy! Thursday
We had these two amazing ladies over for dinner. We met them at church and have really enjoyed getting to know them. Friday
Cleaning out some drawers at work and look what I found. I couldn't believe it. Does anyone even own a computer that reads these old disks? Saturday
We went to California for a Steve Green/Larnelle Harris concert. The last time I was at a Steve Green concert was probably about 5 years ago in GA. Mike took me for our anniversary...such wonderful memories! Now let's see how everyone else is doing.
