Project 365 ~ Week 25

Project 365 button designed by http://richgift.blogspot.com
Sunday
I am so excited...no not because I have two bottles of vodka...
I am so excited because I am making vanilla extract to give away as Christmas gifts.
Monday
Anyone have some recipes for using cucumbers? My cucumber plant is taking over my garden. I am very thankful for all this fresh produce and thank God for His gracious bounty to us.

Tuesday
To support our nephew's school, Mike ordered this magazine for me. I have heard so many great things about it. I got my first one today and it isn't exactly what I thought it would be but I am looking forward to reading it. I already found a new recipe I'm going to try this week.
Wednesday
I made these lanyards for the cruise my sister is taking me on for my birthday. The ship we'll be going on is called the Paradise.
Thursday
I got a few cards made this week but my big accomplishment with my cards is actually getting some variety packs posted on my Etsy store to sell. Check them out Variety Pack I and Variety Pack II
Friday
This week we got lots of things accomplished outside. Mike got the house and deck pressure washed, rocks moved to the back yard, weeding, mulching and arranging rocks. As I was weeding the graveled area by the chicken run, I noticed that some of the hens were watching me. It looked like they were making sure I was doing a good job and they were there to judge the results. BTW - I think they approved!
Saturday
We had a chick hatch. Benedict (as in Eggs Benedict) is what Maureen (Mike's sister) named the chick. I know the picture is really bad... almost looks dead but I promise the chick is not dead.
One hot week finished and I am guessing this week will be another hot one. I am grateful for a wonderful husband who helped me out with the outside projects this week. It allowed me to take a break in the middle of the day and cool down in the house. I am also very thankful for air conditioning!
Now I am heading on over to Sara's blog to read how everyone else's week went.

Awww... Cute chick. You're having high temps too? We haven't had much of a summer yet, low 70's mostly, not that I'm complaining, it's just taken me by surprise cuz' we're normally in the 90's by now.

Your cards never cease to surprise me! Thanks for sharing your week!

You could make and can pickles. My grandma use to make a cucumber salad with cucumbers and onions with a dressing over the top. Rachel likes the baby chick.Let us know if any more hatch.

Hello Mrs. Elizabeth,

I have not been on the computer in awhile. I saw your question on my blog comments. Free range hens are very healhty, but are more work. Yes, I have to "hunt" eggs everyday! We laugh and say I go on an Easter egg hunt everyday! :>) My current flock are pretty good about laying in the barn (they like the hay!) and in their boxes some. Because of snakes my mama doesn't like me looking in the woods behind our barn too much! Hope that helps.

Good News, Megan will eat all your cucumbers! She'll sit there and eat one by herself....they are her favorite. She'll be so excited to see them growing too! Thanks again for ordering from Roger, sounds like a nice magazine and Roger got his cool light up glasses in return.
I love the pictures of the hens...that's too funny!

Grandma used to make some wonderful bread and butter pickles. They were great to use just alone in between two slices of buttered bread. Or you could use them in just about any other application where you would use pickles.

I was thinking maybe the chic was dead...good to know it is alive. Cute rose cards too. Love the lanyards as well. You are so crafty and creative. Jealous just a little.

Totally want to know how to make the vanilla. I have a great cold cucumber salad recipe. Want to swap?
Your cards and lanyards are great!
Sounds like you got a great amount of work done this week! You'll be ready for another cruise after all that!
Have a super week!!
