Peace

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27

At Home With The Lord

Early Monday morning my Pastor and his wife came to pick me and Mom up to take us to the Georgia National Cemetery. The sky was clear blue and the air was cool which was a drastic change from the rainy week we had just had. God blessed us with a gorgeous day!
This cemetery is for those men and women who have served their country. It is over 770 acres which is full of trees and is all well maintained...Surrounded by mountains and often visited by deer and wild turkeys. Pastor spoke for a few minutes and then Ty placed the urn inside (Section 7 Grave C-10) Anyone wanting to visit can stop any time during the day.
In a few days the Marble plaque will be engraved with

Michael P. Williams (10/21/1966-08/17/2010)

At approximately 4:30 AM, on August 17th, 2010, my husband of 8 years, went to be went home to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ. It was sudden and unexpected, but he entered the presence Jesus very quickly.

"Yes, we will miss him, yet we will always know that death did not have victory over him, for he had been snatched from the very gates of hell and brought into the family of God, transferred from darkness unto light, his eternal destiny changed from an everlasting Hell to the joy of being in the ranks of those who will spend eternity worshiping Jesus. For this reason, he knows, and we can repeat with the apostle Paul "Death has been swallowed up in victory." "Where, O death, is your victory, Where, O death is your sting?" (I Corinthians 15:54,55)" - From my Dad's blog.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, August 21st, 2010 at 11:00 AM at:

Thief In The Night

My sister recently posted about the Thief In The Night movie that my parents use to show as an evangelism tool many years ago. The movie brings back lots of special memories for me because it was after watching that movie that I accepted the Lord as my personal Lord and Savior. More on that in a future post but I wanted to share the theme song as my TSMSS submission.

Are you ready for Christ's return? If not, don't wait another day for we do not know when He is returning.

1 Thessalonians 5: 1-3
Now, brothers, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

Pass the Biscuit

My Dad passed this email along to me...not sure who the original writer of the email is but I thought it was excellent and I wanted to pass it on!

---------------------------------------------------

When I was a kid, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then. And I remember one night in particular when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day at work.

On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage and extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was reach for his biscuit, smile at my mom and ask me how my day was at school.

I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that biscuit and eat every bite!

When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mom apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits. And I'll never forget what he said: "Honey, I love burned biscuits."

Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if he really liked his biscuits burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said, "Your Momma put in a hard day at work today and she's real tired. And besides, a little burnt biscuit never hurt anyone!"

Life is full of imperfect things and imperfect people. I'm not the best at hardly anything, and I forget birthdays and anniversaries just like everyone else. But what I've learned over the years is that learning to accept each others faults and choosing to celebrate each others differences is one of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting relationship.

So we should learn to take the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of your life and lay them at the feet of God. Because in the end, He's the only One who will be able to give you a relationship where a burnt biscuit isn't a deal-breaker!

We could extend this to any relationship. In fact, understanding is the base of any relationship, be it a husband-wife or parent-child, sibling, or friendship!

"Don't put the key to your happiness in someone else's pocket. Keep it in your own."

God Bless You, now, and always.

Project 365 ~ Week 32

Project 365 button designed by http://richgift.blogspot.com

Monday
Mike started walking July 1st when I was away in Las Vegas. I am so proud of him... he has been walking 3 miles a day in the neighborhood across the street which is very mountainous. I have walked a handful of times with him but I am totally out of shape and can't keep up, so he and Betsy walk their pace and I walk mine.

Tuesday
I saw this tree during my walk... can you see the bee hive?
Wednesday
Made my signs for my weekend sale.
Thursday
Spent the entire day in the garage getting things organized for my garage sale... this butterfly flew in and kept me company the entire day.
Friday
Got this cute apron from my sister... now I am trying to decide if it's too cute to use
Saturday
I totally forgot to take a picture... I was exhausted after two days of having a garage sale but God was good and blessed me with two days of no rain and enough customers that I sold lots of stuff. I have several boxes of stuff left over that I am going to donate this week. Thanks to all of you who prayed!

Now I am heading on over to Sara's blog to read how everyone else's week went.

Declutter Challenge ~ July

I know the last time I posted anything regarding the declutter challenge was for the month of April. What can I say, life has been busy.

This month however is going to be a HUGE month for me in regards to decluttering the house. The next two weekends I am having a garage sale. I have gone through my books, my clothes, my craft room, my kitchen cabinets and this week I hope to go through some things in the basement.

Please pray for good weather, lots of customers and many, many sales! I hope next month to post that I have met my goal of decluttering 730 items :-)

Thanks to Amy at The Finer Things for hosting this much needed challenge.

Project 365 ~ Week 27 thru 31

What a whirlwind... I feel overwhelmed... I have so much I want to share but I just don't know where to start... I am just going to post the highlights of the last few weeks because if I posted about EVERYTHING I've done you would be here for hours. So here goes:

This past weekend Mike's Dad (David) came to visit. It was a short visit but it was nice to meet Christine (his wife) and catch up alittle. Before his visit, we had Mike's Mom (Kathleen), Sister (Maureen), Nephew (Roger) and Niece (Megan) come for almost a week long visit. We kept the kids busy and had made lots of fun memories! We were told about this cool place called INK, an interactive neighborhood for kids. They had a blast playing in each section.Although it was hot, they still enjoyed playing outside. Side note: This picture was taken my Maureen and I love it because it's a great action shot. Megan was in the middle of falling and if Maureen would have snapped one more picture right after this one, you would see Roger falling over Megan. Special note: no children were hurt in the taking of this picture! One morning we visited Cagle's Family Farm. The kids enjoyed feeding the goats, calfs, ducks, chicken and sheep. After having fun with the animals we enjoyed a picnic lunch under a big shady tree.Monkey Joe's was a fabulous place to go. The kids got to run, bounce, climb, slide and use up all their energy while we all enjoyed the air conditioning. They played so hard that after 5 minutes of being in the car they were both out for a nap while we drove to Discover Mills Mall.We were all hungry, so the first place we stopped at was the food court. Mike and I ate Chinese and he thought his fortune was appropriate because he just recently started growing a goatee. If you can't read the fortune, it says "Be Adventurous, Try A New Look" We walked the mall and of course spent lots of time in Bass Pro Shops (Mike's favorite store). Roger was playing the shooting arcade game and Mike was trying to teach him how to correctly hold a rifle. I got a box in the mail and it was filled with all these goodies. My dear friend Bea is always so thoughtful. Thanks so much Bea!
Kathy, Ana and I had a great time on the cruise. This is a picture of Ana looking at La Bufadora (blow hole) in Ensenada Mexico. Before I went away on my trip to Las Vegas to visit Kathy and go on my birthday cruise Mike gave me my birthday gift.... all the episodes of Sue Thomas... are you familiar with this show? It was on several years ago on the PAX channel. It only lasted a few years and then they took it off the air. I don't think PAX channel even exists any more so maybe that is why this show went off the air. Anyway - I am really enjoying these DVDs.
So that about sums up everything that has been going on in my life for the last several weeks. Thanks Sara for hosting Project 365.
