Squeaky

I bought these really nice Clarks sandals last month. I wore them to work today and all I can say is squeak, squeak, squeak. Every step I took I squeaked. Why?

Clarks are good shoes... well made... comfortable.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make them stop squeaking?

I've had squeaky shoes (birkenstocks!) that I put baby powder on - but I'm not sure you want to do that with sandals! Maybe some vaseline where it's squeaking? I don't know - that might stain the leather...
