Missions Monday ~ Tolsons

Last Sunday we had this sweet couple come to our church and speak about their calling to be missionaries to China. They are currently at 67% of their support. It is their desire, Lord willing, to go to the field in August 2010.
Here is a little excerpt from their website.
We are the Tolson Family, my name is Mark, my wife is Natasha, and we have one daughter Ava. We believe God has called us to be church-planting missionaries to the country of China! We are sent out of Vision Baptist Church in Alpharetta, GA under the leadership of Pastor Austin Gardner.

I was born into a Christian family and had the opportunity of growing up in a home that served God faithfully. But it wasn't until I was a teenager that I received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour.

Shortly after, I surrendered to be a missionary. Since then I have been preparing for the mission field. I attended Bible college and received a bachelors degree in missions, spent six months on the mission field, and worked on the pastoral staff of Vision Baptist Church for two years.

While working at Vison Baptist Church I met my wife. We were married on August 18, 2007. We have finished our training at the Church and have gained much of the necessary experience before starting deputation and heading toward the field.

We are now on fulltime deputation with the hopes of leaving for the feild in the fall of 2010.

Another blurb from their website:

Our baby has what is known as “Body Stalk Anomaly.” Basically, all the organs from the midchest down have developed outside the body and have attached themselves to the wall of the placenta. This condition makes the baby “incompatible with life.” If the baby does make it full term then it will most likely pass away during the birthing process or live very shortly thereafter. With that being said, please be in prayer for the baby, my wife, and our family. The baby is currently living, and Natasha will continue to carry the baby as long as it lives. We know the Lord is in control, and we will continue as normal to see what the Lord does.

Prayer Requests:
  • Meet their goal of full support by August
  • Natasha to stay healthy through this pregnancy
  • God's will to be done regarding the baby
  • Safety and strength as the family travels around visiting churches
