Two Rakes and a Tarp

Our first project of the year is now complete and the yard looks wonderful.

We slept in on New Years day as much as we could. Mike had to join a conference call because he is on call this week. All went well on the call and we were able to get outside by 10:30 to start raking.

Mike and I make a great team. We raked all the leaves in a section onto a tarp then carried the tarp and dumped the leaves in a designated area of the yard. We live on an acre lot and some of it has grass growing (or trying to grow) and the rest we have decided to keep "all natural". So leaves, branches and anything else goes in the natural area.

After that project was done we cleaned out the chicken run and made the chickens good and happy. You know, happy chickens lay more eggs :-)

Thank you Lord for giving us a beautiful, sunny and cool day yesterday to get our first project complete. Thank you also for giving us rain today because we so greatly need it.

Hope everyone had a fantastic first day of the year.
